In 2005, Xia Liu began work as a Senior Research Technician in the Department of Medical Oncology, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston. Many project focuses involve suppressor cells and their function against autoimmune diseases. Xia joined the Bing Center for Waldenstrom’s Research, DFCI in July 2007. Now she is working on the pathogenesis of Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia.
Mrs. Liu received her degrees in Medical Science in Shanghai, China. After graduation, she worked at the Shanghai Railway hospital as a physician and lecturer. In 1999, MRs. Liu focused her work in research at Ohio State University, later to aspire to Harvard University as a research assistant. She has been well trained in molecular and cellular biology, histology, immuno-histochemistry, and signal transductions. As she continues to work with Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia, her concentrations are focused on a pathogenesis level.
